Dessert
The “Apricot Dainty” recipe listed here is my all time favorite dessert. You won’t
find these anywhere but here, because my mother started making these for my brother and me in 1949 and it is her recipe I am sharing with you. I have made some
changes in her original recipe to make it easier to make and it still taste just as good
because I have not changed the cream filling.
Another dessert idea is the “5 Minute Chocolate Cake”, recipe also listed here. This is no joke, I’ve had it a number of times because; like I have said before, I like chocolate anyway I can get it. This could easily be made in individual small bowls, instead of a mug, and served with ice cream on top.
To make your desserts healthier you can add almonds or some ground flaxseed and get a jump on your cholesterol. These are good for lowering your LDL. You can also help your LDL by using soymilk in your favorite latte.
Believe it or not, chocolate bars, granola bars and cookies contain phytosterols that interfere with cholesterol absorption by blocking it from your intestinal cells.
Just watch the saturated fat and trans-fat content.

There are some very good “food for thought” remarks regarding this issue.
If you read this information you will see that our Money Saver Menu contains many of the foods shown on the above website. Like I have said before, these recipes are not just tasty, they are also healthy.
